Why'd I Buy It...Linky!!!!

Elementary AMC Linky!
Since I had just blogged about my new puchases, I decided to link up with Elementary AMC to share my new treasures.
I found out from a friend that Mardel was having their 20% off sale today, so I decided to go and get some border that I wanted. It was only $3.99, and I wouldn't buy anything else, right? Wrong.  I have fallen for this Isabella design that has all the colors I normally use (turquoise, lime green,) but there is red in the group.  I have kinda stayed away from red, but I have decided I can't fight the red chevrons any longer, gotta have 'em!  I ended up with some really cute border to go with what I already had and the red chevrons complemented it so well.  Here is the "haul"...20% off!

Borders, letters (on sale for $5) and pennant banner: (sorry about the glare - cell phone was all I had at the time!)
Isabella Collection Chevron and polka dots

Banner and letters from Isabella at Mardel

My new t-shirt for this year!

And my FAVORITE find...Learning Chips from Kagan ($5) There are 16 chips and they will be perfect for group work, my teacher station, or writing stations. I can see letting each group draw out two or three chips, discussing and writing about it after we've read a story, then sharing what they wrote.  They are really good fiction questions! I can't wait to use them.

In addition to Mardel, there were some Target Dollar finds!!  (As always...it's a given that I have to find some great things at Target, because I'm pretty sure I should own most of Target based on how much I spend there.)  You can find me staging pictures right on the floor in Target...like I just did. Here's the loot:
Blank books we used last year for story writing...super great deal!!

I didn't buy these...but I WANT to!  I think I want to re-do my file cabinet doors in the gray chevron. (I wish I could do all my lockers too!)

Book Boxes!!

LOVE the books and flash cards! I've been known to cut the pages out of the workbooks and put them in plastic sheet protectors.

Ready to hang border and decorate!

    1. Thank you! Yes, if you solve the border overload problem, let me know - I'm obsessed. (do we need the border patrol?)

  4. I love Target too! I do have a solution to border storage -- clip them together with a spring clip then hang them inside a tall cabinet with 3M plastic hooks. That way, you can easily see what you have. :)
