I had to find something great to go on that wall. I wasn't going to buy another gigantic wall decoration, shiny with laminating film and staples. I was leaning toward maps. I looked for a large, antique-looking map, found several online, but that just wasn't doing it for me. I looked at the vinyl wall art at Hobby Lobby, but it would've taken several sets to make an impact.
I finally had a vision, it came to me in the night. You know, like when you can't remember the title of a movie or a name during the day, then at 2 AM, it hits you? Have you saved your own children's artwork over the years like I have? I began finding cheap black frames at Dollar Tree, half price at Hobby Lobby, Target, etc... I started framing all of my kids' darling artwork from elementary school. I couldn't wait to do a big wall arrangement with it, all framed in black on my big blank wall. It turned out so great. The cool thing is that my two kids went to the elementary school where I teach, so all of their art was done right there at the school. Kinda cool, huh? Here is a partial picture; it goes down a little further.
