A Job Well Done - My RST Student!

Our district has a program in the high schools called "Ready, Set, Teach."  The students who want to be teachers take the class and get to do some hands on training in the elementary schools.  Once they go through the program, they are guaranteed an interview with our district when they graduate from college.  My student had a bulletin board project to complete.  Unfortunately, I didn't have a ton of room to offer her, but I had an idea I'd been wanting to try.   I offered her the idea I've seen lots of times on Pinterest  with french fry boxes (found at Target Dollar Spot, 6/$1) and words we want to retire from our writing that are typically "boring, worn-out words." We chose to retire "good, bad, walked, said, looked, ran."  My RST student isn't in my classroom for Language Arts, but my class will brainstorm new and better words and fill the fry boxes with "fancier" words.  I loved her Fancy Nancy idea! I don't know if you can see it, but Nancy is holding a McDonald's french fry container in her hand.  Didn't she do a great job?!!  She is going to be a great teacher, the kids love her!
